On February 6, the S90 blade independently developed by Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group Co., Ltd. for offshore wind turbines passed the full-scale static load test for one time, certified by China Quality Certification Center. Featuring a length of 90 meters, it is by far the longest wind turbine blade of glass fiber in the word, refreshing the large blade test record in China.
Shanghai Electric designs the S90 blade for offshore areas of medium-and-low wind speed in China, whose every test parameter meets the international standard. It is used in 6.5MW offshore wind turbines. The design team optimized the performance of the whole set by specifically tackling load-related problems, and made the blade more advanced and lighter by adopting a number of new technologies thanks to innovations and analysis.
